This piece is one of the worlds finest pieces of hand painted glass oxide images you will ever find. Paiinted by Maestro Diego Salvadori, it features an image of Piazzetta San Marco 1743 (Saint Markd square dated 1743 - date of original image depicted). Featuring etchign of 24 Kt gold leaf on a Cobalt Blue (Blue Cobalto) plate which uses Silver oxides to create the colour, it is simply scintillating. Born in Murano, after attending the Istituto d’Arte, Diego Salvatori / Salvadori decided to follow his fathers’ footsteps, dedicating himself to the decoration of glass. A splendid interpreter of traditional crafts such as etching on gold leaf or enamel friezes, he has become firmly established in sommerso glass works as well as in the reproduction of special pieces such as the works of painters such as Guardi, Canaletto, Titian or the reproduction of objects of the Museum Of Murano such as the Barovier Cup. Diego Salvadori is one of the few glass decorators who still lives and works in Murano
This piece measures 40 cm x 30 cm and it a mesmorising testamnet to the skill by 1 of 2 only Murano Maestri in Venice still painting using the oxides technique.
